Here is the challenge, im currently looking for a new machine i only need the base unit as i have everything else, it needs to do 2 things to a very good degree.

1) pllay up to date games

2) loads of ram to support all the graphics and multi tasking i do...

Im not really concerned on HD space as i have a 500Gb external for all my files and backups

I would like a decent mother board with the option to add more ram at a later stage

Ideally have 2 DVD drives with loads of USB ports.

Thats it really ... budget wise around £1000 = $1980 could go a bit more depending on what it is...

I really don't know where to start to be honest, my current machine is 3 years old and whilst i have kept it upgraded i feel it is time to get a faster motherboard and ram.

Could some one n the know help me out please, with links or advise

Can I suggest a quad core cpu and an Nvidia 8800 graphics cpu. They are amazing. Add to that a minumum of 2 Gig of fast ram and you are away.
