Post How to make header/logo static? Posted: Sun Jan 13, 2008 2:46 pm

Hi Guys Angel
I have never posted here before so if this is in the wrong place I apologise!

I want to make my header static, does anyone know how to do this? I was told frames was the only way, but I have no idea how to even begin using frames Embarrased

Any help would be gratefully received.

Hey Emma

I don't entirely understand your question, the part that confuses me is the frames part.

What is it your trying to achieve ?

Hi
Thanks for the reply

Sorry I wasnt very descriptive. I am wanting my pages in phpnuke to open without keep reloading the header logo, I want that to stay static, so that only below the header loads when users click on a module link to another part of the website.

I hope you understand Embarrased

Ah yeah i understand now

That cant be done unfortunately

The only way around it would be to remove the header all together !!

Shop Purchases:
Battlefield 2 Theme (Aviator V2) · Battlefield 2142 (Aviator v2) · Arnhem Multi Gaming Theme · Call of Duty 4 Ultimate Theme · Multi Gaming (Warrior) Theme · Topsites Manager V1 PhpNuke Module · Clan Roster v1.7 Php Nuke Module · Frontlines Fuel Of War Theme · Anzio Multi Gaming Theme · Left for Dead L4D PhpNuke Evo Theme · Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Theme · Clan Roster 2.0 · Call of Duty Black Ops Xtreme Theme

I dont know much about this stuff but i have an idea how it may work. If your'e any good at design then maybe you can create a html with a nice header and use iframes to display all your'e site content in that? The html can be designed with the same theme as site and can make it look quite fancy with a header and a footer. Again like i said i dont know how difficult this would be to pull off but theoretically i think this can be done. You can loose the header and footer from your main nuke site and place all the rest into the iframes. That way the only thing that would refresh would be all whats inside that frame. This may help............ HERE

Damn, I was hoping there would be a simpler way than using frames as I have no idea where to start with those!!

Thanks to both of you for your replies Wink

What is your site and would you like me to have a go for you ? i wont need access or nothing like that. Do you have cpanelx and is your site in the root folder or is it in a sub folder? It wouldent be that difficult I dont think just the design part. Basically make a html and
make the first page within the Iframe to be the home page of your site. Then you will probably need to make a redirector to make the html page show first when you goto http://www.yoursite.com so would look like this http://www.yoursite.com/your.html (dont click links, mearly used as an example)

Just let me know if you want me to have a go for you, but it depends on how much you want you site to look/work this way.

It would be great if you could have a go for me Embarrased

My website is www.puremadonna.com and yes I do have cpanelx and the website is installed in my root folder.

The reason I so want this is because I have a slim music player above my logo and want this to remain where it is, wherever the users are on my website so that the music isnt interrupted, as I dont want to use a popup music player, am I being clear here??

I thought maybe making the area static would be the answer, but if there is another easier answer then I am all ears Kiss

Thanks again
Emma

LoL forget about the couple of days :) ive cracked it already, i took liberty in taking the player from the right click veiw source and have made the html for you already (maybe and idea to deactivate right klik on site as you dont want people using link on there site from yours thus stealing your bandwidth) You will need to delete the banner you have there now and the stripy background so all you are left with is from

Create an account :: Home :: Downloads :: Your Account :: Forums :: January 13, 2008

down. there may be some tweaking here and there but essentially i can now goto forums home ect without the player being interupted. To make it look good you can always get rid of footer and place it on the html.

Before you delete anything tho i cant stress this enough MAKE BACKUPS

Yes you will stlll be able to have youre logo all ive done is put it onto the html along with the player, essentially the html will never refresh just the content you have inside the iframes thus allowing your player and header to be displayed pemenently.

Ps wheres your site gone ? :0
