I ran across this while browsing http://ravenphpscripts.com

Spam-IP.com

Spam-IP.com is an internet resource for those looking to; clean up spam, protect themselves from scams, protect their forum, manage a email blacklist, stay updated on internet security, and more. Spam-IP.com offers many free service that most companies charge for. Our mission is to decimate the spammers. Please join our community by using our services and spreading the word.

Spam-IP.com currently has 75,000+ spammers listed in it's database, with more being added daily.

If you look at the install.txt from the spam ip module download it reads.

This install has been checked on versions php-nuke 7-8 and should be as simple as any.

Copy the folder Spam_IP to your websites modules folder

example: http://yourwebsite.com/modules/

Login to your admin area of your site and click modules then scroll down and activate the Spam_IP

Thats it!

We want to personally thank you for helping to protect yourself and others!

Check Spam-IP.com in the future as we will be coming out with a IP SQL file that will block all 80,000 Spammers from your site!

Thanks

Going to be interesting to see how this works out, but I salute them for their efforts. I personally have not had a spam problem while using RavenNuke.

I have emailed the author regarding this module.
I have concerns that it may be open to abuse if reported spammers are not verified. If the author is simply using a list of reported spammers without verifying the data is correct, this could potentially do more harm than good.
The module name is something of a misnomer too, "Spam-IP" - the module only works on email addresses, not IP addresses.

I have a lot of the same concerns. I personally think this script is a failure in the way to handle spam.
