CT Website · Do NOT PM Admins OR Staff Members

Posted on Thursday, June 11, 2009 @ 17:48 by floppy

People I don't mean to be such a tool, but I just can not take anymore of it.  In the past 10 days I have answered more than 50 private messages.  We will no longer allow this for two reasons.

1) A private message answers a question for one person.  A forum post could answer a question for everyone.

2) It takes away from time CT Staff could be doing things that benefit everyone.

You will see warnings in the Private Messages section of the site.  Like the below.

It does not matter your ryhme or reason for your private message.  You will be banned, period.  Enough is Enough.  If you PM us and you have purchased a product you have not received you will be refunded and banned.  I hope I have myself perfectly clear.

Floppy,

What if you have a question of a more personal nature like a discussion between developers over a proposed idea that you wish not to be public at the moment? Is it safe to PM a question of that nature?

If you know a developer that well you can email or use another form of contact.

Duck, we know who the more "active" members of the community are, and I wouldnt be offended if PMs were genuinely private, but when we get people PMing how to install a block/module or install PHPNuke ! lol there the ones that get on our nerves a lot..

Im sure you know the score
