PhpNuke · Nuke Sentinel Invalid IP Access

Posted on Tuesday, June 05, 2007 @ 18:47 by floppy

Well this question comes up all the time.  I thought I would spread the news about a fix.  Just last week I was reading the article on phpnuke-downloads.comIncrease Php-Nuke Website Traffic!.  To be honest I had no idea there had been a fix issued for this, but I rarely run into the problem myself.  Apparently it happens on phpnuke sites more than I know of.  Thanks to the staff over at phpnuke-downloads.com for an great contribution.  I am unware of who wrote the specific article so I have no idea who I am quoting.  Maybe they will take care of that soon.  Hint! Hint!

So, here is the message many of your phpnuke site visitors are seeing when they are trying to visit your web site. You ask me why? Because of phpnuke security system NukeSentinel, which was coded by NukeScripts.net. As a owner of the website obviously you do not see this message. I noticed the alert for the first time when i was on at one of my friends just trying to check my forums message. The reason nuke security give this alert because either you do not have updated list of IP' address or NukeSentinel is not recognizing your IP address somehow.

I finally had to come out and made an announcement just to tell all the nukers or phpnuke webmaster that please, please and please update your countries IP address list from NukeScripts.net OR delete the following line from nukesentinel.php.

Go to includes/nukesentinel.php (around line 140 where it says //Invalid ip check)and delete or comment it out.

Deleting or commenting out that specific line will not hurt your nuke security system. The solution was discussed in many well known forums including Nukecops.com and RavenPHPScripts.com. Read the following post to learn more about this invalid IP issue.

The mysterious author goes on to provide a link to a discussion on Ravenphpscripts.comYou are using an Invalid IP to access this site.  Anyway the question was asked just a few minutes ago in the forums and I wanted to proved some answers for anyone else who might be experiencing this issue.

Thanks again Phpnuke-Downloads.com and Ravenphpscripts.com

You can also turn it off in rnconfig.php if your running the latest version of raven nuke. Around line 62.

$bypassNukeSentinelInvalidIPCheck = FALSE; //This should only be used (set to TRUE) when testing locally and not in a production environment
